Adagio Teas – Honeybush Pumpkin Chai
Tea description
Masala chai spices in a South African honeybush herb base, with a hint of pumpkin. This blend of honeybush, cinnamon bark, cardamom, ginger root, cocoa nibs & safflower is sure to delight. Beautiful clear and bright cup, with a crisp and tangy-sweet flavor.
The heat of the spices is balanced beautifully with the natural smooth, mellow quality of the honeybush. Naturally, caffeine-free for an anytime treat. We suggest two heaping teaspoons per 6 oz cup. Sugar, cream or soy if desired.

Tasting notes
Dry Aroma: This herbal tea had a wonderful masala spice aroma that reminded me of Aztec spices, laced with a chocolate-infused pumpkin aroma.
Liquor color: A dark shade of scarlet red with an orange hue.
Liquor Aroma: The spiced smokey aroma from the brewed tea is phenomenal. Cinnamon and Clove dominate with a light trace of pumpkin.
Tasting notes:
Brewing time: 15 minutes (I pushed the steep time by 5 minutes)
Quantity: 1.5 teaspoon
I am yet to find the perfect cup of commercial pumpkin latte. But this gourmet honeybush pumpkin chai is a refreshing take on a concept that is originally rich and excessively sweet.
Looking out to a bright sky and feeling the cold breeze with my hands wrapped around a cup of this chai is such a magical combination. The aroma of the chai alone had me hooked.
In contrast to the deep red color and strong aroma, the chai has a honey-like sweetness. Subtle toasty, nutty notes coat the sweet liquor. The flavor finishes with a vanilla-like creaminess. Chai normally is associated with bold flavors. The honeybush base created a softer, milder flavor profile which was very unique but had me wanting a kick of pumpkin spice.
The honeybush pumpkin chai is a very relaxing, calming blend. The warm aroma after an infusion is particularly exceptional. I was disappointed that the pumpkin flavor didn’t shine through as expected. A definite keeper for the cold winter days to come.
